Berrynarbor Wine Circle was founded in 1988 by Alan Richardson and his wife Inge and has continued successfully to the present date.

There are usually eight meetings in the year, always at 8.00 p.m. in the Manor Hall on the third Wednesday of the month between October and  May (except December when it is the second Wednesday).

Presenters can be professionals, perhaps a wine merchant or even a vineyard owner, or members of the Circle who are prepared to talk about their favourites.

It is a convivial and economic way of sampling six wines.

The December meeting is a highlight when groups of members will bring dishes for a three course meal to eat with the wines being tasted.

It is not a group of wine buffs, just a friendly body of interested people who enjoy an excellent sociable evening.  Annual subscription, payable at first meeting, is £10, with an individual meeting price of £6, which covers the cost of wines and cheese and biscuits.

Due to licensing regulations, the Circle is only open to members, but visitors are welcome provided a committee member has been informed of their coming 24 hours in advance.
